Impossibile connettersi con VShpere Client:Error parsing the server “” “clients.xml” file. e KB2478658

Dopo qualche mese é riemerso nuovamente un problema di incompatibilità della versione 4.0 del VMware VSphere Client con gli Aggiornamenti Windows in particolare con un aggiornamento del Framework 2.0.

L’aggiornamento KB2478658 è relativo a un aggiornamento sulla sicurezza .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 .

L’errore che compare è:

Error parsing the server “<servername>” “clients.xml” file.

è possibile risolvere il problema in 3 modi:

• aggirare il problema seguendo le istruzioni date da VMware nel post ( Cannot launch vSphere Client after installing in Windows 7, Windows 2003, or Windows 2008 R2 );
• aggiornare il VSphere Client alla versione a una versione superiore 4.0 update 1 oppure  4.1;
• disinstallare l’aggiornamento KB2478658.
